Overview

"Education is the most powerful weapon

you can use to change the world for the better."

- Marian Wright Edelman

In Pakistan, only 67.5% of children finish primary school.  Sadly the religious minority groups have even worse educational statistics, and being female lowers the levels even further.   Hindus are about 34% literate if from a high caste, but only 19% literate if from a low caste, and Christians in the Punjab are only 34% literate according to the Pakistan’s National Council for Justice and Peace report of 2001.

Gateway Schools in Pakistan are a local initiative that seeks to change this story.

Gateway Schools invite children from all religions to engage in education together with a strong focus on teaching anti-bullying and value for all people equally regardless of religion.

They use international curriculums based on these ideals and help broaden children’s minds and dreams for a better future.

As Christian schools, the teachers serve the children and their families by teaching with excellence, kindness and respect and there are many children sponsored each year if they are unable to afford to attend school.

Gateway Schools believe that if children are taught to respect and value one another equally at school, and are equipped to succeed in life with a good education, they are creating a gateway to a better future for individuals, families, communities and their nation.

We invite you to support Gateway Schools in Pakistan.
